An instant leak-plugging compound is a fast-setting cement-based material used to stop active water leakage and seepage through cracks, joints or openings in concrete and masonry. It is mixed with water and packed firmly into the leakage point, where it sets rapidly to block the flow of water.

How can active water leakage in concrete or masonry be stopped?

Active water leakage can be stopped using a rapid-setting plugging compound designed to work against running water or seepage under pressure. The leakage point must first be enlarged and cleaned before the prepared material is pressed firmly into the opening and held until it sets.

What is BirlaNu Insta Plug used for?

BirlaNu Insta Plug is an instant leak-plugging compound used to seal active water leaks, pressurised seepage and water ingress through cracks or openings in concrete and masonry. It can be used in RCC water tanks, basement walls, lift pits, tunnels, ducts, concrete water pipes and other water-retaining structures.

How quickly does BirlaNu Insta Plug set?

BirlaNu Insta Plug has an initial setting time of approximately 90 seconds and a final setting time of approximately 200 seconds. As the setting time can vary with temperature and water quantity, only a small amount that can be applied immediately should be prepared.

Can BirlaNu Insta Plug be used to repair leaking water pipes?

BirlaNu Insta Plug can be used for emergency repairs of concrete water pipes and other cementitious surfaces. It is not suitable as a general repair solution for PVC, CPVC or metal plumbing pipes.

Can an instant leak-plugging compound be applied on wet surfaces?

Yes, an instant leak-plugging compound is designed for use on wet concrete and masonry surfaces where water is actively leaking. BirlaNu Insta Plug can be applied directly to a properly prepared leakage point and pressed firmly into place until it sets and stops the water flow.
